York Lane No. 2 Painting
York Lane No. 2 Painting
Having moved to York in 2021 I am facinated by its architecture and particulary its many lanes and alleys. This modern painting is of a lane in the center of York. Playing with the light and shade I have capture a scene that drawns the viewer in and makes you want to explore between the spaces. Painted on linen with acrylic. The subtle shading adds a sense of ephemerality. While the use of flat colour is a contrast and helps to engages the viewer in the landscape that is both rooted in reality but open to interpretation.
The painting is framed and has hanging hardware.
